Olympic hero Germaine Mason has died in a motorbike incident

Today, the entire sports world has lost a true Olympic hero Germaine Mason. The high-jumper has perished in a motor bike incident in Jamaica, as some sources already familiar with the matter disclosed.

Germaine Mason, who managed to grasp silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has shocking passed away after today’s crash in Kingston.

The high-jumper was on the Island in the company of his friend, the Jamaican sprinter, Usain Bolt as well as fellow athlete Michael Frater.

On Tweeter Prime Minister Andrew Holness expressed sincere condolences to the whole sporting fraternity for such a terrible loss.

Jamaica was the sportsman’s place of birth, but at the Olympics he competed for Team GB.

In 2006, Germaine Mason switched allegiances and two years later he earned silver in the high jump for his adopted nation.

By the way, Mason still appears to be the holder of the Jamaican national record in the high jump. He set it before linking up with the UK athletics set-up.
