Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta leaves Espanyol play due to injury

Andres Iniesta, Barcelona captain won’t take part in Saturday’s Catalan bout versus Espanyol due to a groin issue. Barcelona have already confirmed this.

Luis Enrique was eager to break up with it as late as he could before deciding on the midfielder’s health, though finally the player had to leave him out of his squad for the play at Cornella-El Prat.

The Blaugrana haven’t unveiled how long they actually expect to be without Anderes, with just three league plays as well as the Copa del Rey final to arise after this weekend.

For Andres, who has faced a number of injury issues, it has appeared to be a stop start season.

Unluckily, a calf injury had him totally excluded for several weeks earlier in 2017, while the player was out of action for up to six weeks earlier in the campaign, having suffered a knee injury during October’s triumph at Valencia.

Denis Suarez and Andre Gomes happen to be the nominees to replace Iniesta in midfield.
