Gareth Bale’s supposed to miss Champions League semis

Gareth Bale, Real Madrid winger is braced for missing the Champions League semi-final versus counterparts Atletico after tests unveiled a tear of his left calf.

The Wales international player aged 27 lasted up to 35 minutes of Sunday’s El Clasico loss to Barcelona right before struggling to leave the Bernabeu pitch.

A concise statement from Madrid proved the extent of the player’s injury, telling that as tests carried out by the Sanitas Medical Services on Gareth, he has ended up with a grade two injury in his left calf. His revival is going to be evaluated.

Reports in Spain state that Bale is currently facing up to three weeks on the sidelines that would have him excluded from both legs of the Champions League tie – respectively on May 2 and 10 – not to mention LaLiga fixtures versus Valencia and Granada and Deportivo La Coruna.

That’s a fresh blow in what has been a disappointing campaign for the ex-Tottenham player, struck down by a slew of injuries, such as a three-month lay-off earlier this football season with an ankle issue.
