KUALA LUMPUR - Giancarlo Fisichella race to victory at Malaysia Grand Prix on Sunday in what was a delightful one-two finish for Renault. Teammate Fernando Alonso, the defending Formula One champion came in behind him, while Jenson Button of Honda claimed the third spot.

Horse racing firm to ride the Silverstone circuit

LONDON - Silverstone Racing Circuit have announced on Monday that Northern Racing will operate the home of the British Grand Prix for the next 25 years. Silverstone has a contract with the Formula One to host the British leg until 2009. The British Racing Drivers' Club, which owns the track had announced that a major revamp was on the cards so that facilities match those that are available in new venues like Bahrain and China.

LONDON - Max Biaggi has completed testing the MidlandF1 car at the Silverstone Grand Prix race circuit on Wednesday afternoon. Biaggi was delighted to have finished the testing. The former MotoGP star has denied that he was signing up with the Alstare Corona Suzuki team in this season.

Michelin opts out of Formula One racing after 2006 season

French tyre major Michelin is ending its association with Formula One racing after the 2006 season, the company announced Wednesday. This follows the race organisers' decision to involve only one tyre company in the event. Bridgestone of Japan will be representing company now.

LONDON - Mobile giant Vodafone has decided to sponsor the McLaren Mercedes team in the Formula One championship. Vodafone currently sponsors the Ferrari team, but the sponsorship deal ends in 2007.

OXFORD, England - The Williams team has inked an agreement to stay on with the Formula One until 2008 as a part of protecting the sport from a split. This agreement called the Concorde agreement has already been signed by Midland F1 (Jordan), Toro Rosso, Red Bull Racing and Ferrari.

LONDON - In the midst of the grief surrounding the demise of footballing legend George Best, British sport lost another champion in the form of Richard Burns. Burns succumbed to a brain tumor on Friday night.
