Marlon Harewood led West Ham to the final of the FA Cup with a sterling goal that saw the Hammers defeat Middlesbrough 1-0 yesterday. West Ham will now face Liverpool in the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff for the May 13 final.

Australian keeper Mark Schwarzer was in stunning form although Middlesbrough lost the first leg of their semifinal tie at Steaua Bucharest, who emerged 1-0 winners. However the margin could have been much worse had the Boro keeper not pulled off amazing saves.

Fowler continues fine run as Liverpool overcome Blackburn 0-1

Robbie Fowler continued his fine run ever since he arrived at Anfield in January as Liverpool notched up a clinical 0-1 win over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park last night. The goal by Fowler in the 29th minute was a bit controversial though since Djibril Cisse could have been in an offside position, but was adjudged to be in the clear. This was Liverpool's sixth consecutive win and keeps them in the race for the second spot after Manchester United drew 0-0 with basement boys Sunderland.

Strachan is the Scottish manager of the year
