Long plays down ankle woe

Rugby story by sport.co.uk, Mon, 12 Apr 2010 09:32:54 GMT

Hull FC skipper Sean Long hopes to be back in action sooner rather than later after suffering an ankle injury in the Monday loss to Warrington Wolves.

The 33-year-old former St Helens half-back was forced off during the first half of the 29-10 reverse at the KC Stadium, but believes that the damage done is not too serious.

He told the club's official website: "I had a scan on Tuesday to have an initial look at the injury and we will monitor it over the next few days with (coach) Richard Agar and Simon Pope, our physio, to see how it looks.

"It was an odd one really, I just got my foot caught and went over on my ankle which can happen fairly easily, so we'll have a look it at this week and see how it goes."
