Bernard Hopkins will meet Roy Jones Jr in April, almost 17 years after they first fought each other.

Hopkins' representatives, Swanson Communications, have confirmed that the bout will take place on Saturday April 3 at the Mandalay Bay Events Centre in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jones beat the then undisputed world middleweight champion Hopkins by a unanimous points decision in Washington in May 1993.

He said of the rematch: "We're giving the fans what they want to see. They deserve this fight and why not supply the fans with what they demand?

"Now I can finally terminate 'The Executioner' once and for all. My new nickname for this fight will be 'The Terminator'."
