Dragons swoop for Walker

Rugby story by sport.co.uk, Tue, 22 Dec 2009 08:43:09 GMT

Australian winger Chris Walker has agreed a two-year deal with Super League side Catalans Dragons.

The French side have now completed their overseas quota for 2010 following the departure of their 2009 captain, Greg Bird.

The 29-year-old Gold Coast Titan player joins Melbourne Storm back row forward Dallas Johnson and New Zealand centre or second rower Setaimata Sa at Stade Gilbert Brutus.

Dragons manager Sebastien Munoz said of his latest capture: "This is good news for the club. He will bring speed to the three-quarter line, which is what we sometimes lacked last season.

"He is a formidable finisher who I think will become very popular with the Catalans fans. He will provide tough competition which will be only positive for the team."
