Sheens makes changes

Rugby story by sport.co.uk, Thu, 05 Nov 2009 08:48:08 GMT

Australia coach Tim Sheens has decided to ring the changes following his side's 20-20 draw against New Zealand in their opening Gillette Four Nations clash last weekend.

The Kangaroos face England at the DW Stadium on Saturday and a defeat would leave his team on the brink of elimination.

Forwards Ryan Hoffman and Sam Thaiday have been dropped, while Nathan Hindmarsh, who has been out of the international set-up for two years, has been recalled to boost the pack.

Hooker Robbie Farah, prop David Shillington and back-rower Luke Lewis could all make their Australia debuts against Tony Smith's side.

Australia team: Slater; B Morris, Inglis, Hodges, Hayne; Lockyer (capt), Thurston; Civoniceva, Smith, Hannant, Watmough, Gallen, Hindmarsh.

Replacements (from): Farah, White, Lewis, Shillington, Waterhouse, Gidley.
