Boost for Hockenheim

Motorsport story by sport.co.uk, Fri, 03 Jul 2009 09:26:33 GMT

Hopes that Hockenheim can remain on the Formula One circuit were given a boost after positive talks between track officials and Bernie Ecclestone."There is a noticeable will on the part of Mr Ecclestone to keep Formula One at the Hockenheimring," said Karl-Josef Schmidt, financial chief executive for the track owners Hockenheim-Ring GmbH. "The situation needs to be sorted out soon."

Nurburgring hosts this year's German Grand Prix, but it returns to Hockenheim in 2010 and is expected to generate a €6million loss.
