Defender Marco Materazzi has been handed a three-year contract extension by Internazionale.Materazzi, 35, had 12 months remaining on his existing deal but is now under contract at the San Siro until 2012.



"FC Internazionale and Marco Materazzi announce the agreement for an extension which will bind the player to the club until 30 June 2012," confirmed a club statement.



The Italy international has made almost 250 appearances during eight seasons with Inter.
