Whether you’re a fan of big boys Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal, a season-ticket holder with Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester City, a frustrated devotee of Newcastle United, Sunderland or Middlesbrough, supporter of all things Everton, Fulham, Wigan, Portsmouth or a lover of Stoke City, Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers, West Bromwich Albion, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham City or Burnley you’ll always have an opinion on the sport.co.uk’s daily tittle-tattle round-up. Chelsea have reportedly offered Valencia a bigger sum than Real Madrid for striker David Villa, but the Spanish hitman is ready to turn down the Blues in order to stay in La Liga with the Bernabeu outfit. Sir Alex Ferguson is hot on the heels of Antonio Valencia and will hope to seal a deal for the Ecuadorian winger now that Real Madrid’s interest has cooled off. Florentino Perez hasn’t lost interest in Cristiano Ronaldo though. The Real President has the Portuguese winger in his sights and according to some quarters of the Spanish media a bid of nearly £83m has been lodged. Rafael Benitez could let Xabi Alonso leave Anfield after all as he eyes up some of Real Madrid’s youth team starlets. Javier Mascherano, however, will definitely not be leaving Anfield despite Barcelona’s desire to seal a deal. Pato’s chances of playing at Stamford Bridge look all but over after AC Milan general manager Adriano Galliani claimed he was 100% sure the 19-year-old would remain at San Siro. Andrea Pirlo, the rosonerri midfield lynchpin, is more open to joining up again with Carlo Ancelotti and claims ‘we’ll see.’ Robert Huth will stay with Middlesbrough this summer unless a big offer comes in from the Premier League. As yet, no offers have been registered by the giant German’s agent. Marseille defender Ronald Zubar, a £3m target for Wolves, is definitely leaving Marseille after revealing the fans don’t like him and the new manager won’t play him. Edin Dzeko is unlikely to leave Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg after the German side insisted they would hold onto their star man. The Bosnian is still being heavily linked with AC Milan who are very keen to splash their Kaka cash. Daniel Agger has not been given assurances of a starting berth at Anfield despite insisting that Rafael Benitez do exactly that before he signed a new contract. Fiorentina’s Felipe Melo will snub European suitors including Arsenal as he looks to extend his stay with the Serie A side. The Brazilian also wants an expensive buyout clause in his new contract so that the Tuscan side will reap the rewards should a big club come calling. Giovani dos Santos is desperate to get out of White Hart Lane as rumours mount that Espanyol will lure him back to Barcelona. The Mexican has failed to impress in England after a series of injuries. Roman Pavlyuchenko has been heavily linked with AS Roma, but Harry Redknapp has told the Russian that he wants to keep the 27-year-old. The Russian himself has been speaking about his compatriots and tipped his international colleagues in particular to make it big in England. Bayern Munich forward Luca Toni has spoken about his pride at being linked with Barcelona and hinted that after two successful seasons in the Bundesliga he might well consider a move. Irish international Damien Duff is a summer possibility for Martin O’Neill who is hoping to increase the size of his Villa squad. He’ll face competition from newly promoted duo Burnley and Wolves.
