Bayern sweeten up Ribery by promising signings

Football story by sport.co.uk, Thu, 21 May 2009 10:38:49 GMT

Bayern Munich will attempt to keep Franck Ribery from leaving the Allianz Arena by promising the French international big-money signings as a show of Bavarian ambition. The 25-year-old winger has hinted that he could leave the Bundesliga this summer with Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona all mooted as possible destinations, however, Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness has promised swift action to persuade the Frenchman to stay.

“We will sign at least two good players this summer who can support Franck in his attempt to help Bayern to Champions League glory. Bayern will be one of the more active sides on this summer’s transfer market,” Hoeness said to De Telegraaf.

“We’re already discussing terms with one player, but I can’t say yet with who.”
