The Italian football federation has already lifted Sulley Muntari’s one-play ban imposed for walking off the field, following racist abuse during a Serie A game.
The Pescara player was granted a yellow card at Cagliari for protesting regarding the abuse. Then, he was booked once again as he dared t leave the pitch without following procedures. By the way, the Ghana international’s two yellow cards are equal to a red one, suggesting a one-game ban.
The ban was lifted on Friday, reacting to global protests. To be exact, it was carried out by the Italian football federation’s appeal court.
Muntari told that a section of the home supporters gave racial slurs. The incident attracted referee Daniele Minelli.
Unfortunately, the referee didn’t hear that chanting. Instead, he had the ex- AC Milan player booked. Then, in protest Sulley walked off the field before conflicting with some of the home supporters, simultaneously slapping his own skin.
