Liverpool will have Centenary Stand at Anfield renamed in honour of Kenny Dalglish

Liverpool are about to pay tribute to the club’s greatest ever player by simply renaming an Anfield stand in honor of the legendary sportsman Kenny Dalglish.

The Kenny Dalglish Stand – that’s a new name of the Centenary Stand.

Club owners Fenway Sports Group actually demanded permanent recognition for the prominent personality, considered by many to be the finest sportsman to wear the Liverpool shirt and who successfully managed Liverpool for two spells.

Dalglish’s enormous contribution to the city of Liverpool and in particular his leadership qualities in the aftermath of the Hillsborough Disaster in 1989 enable him to stand out from anybody in the club’s history. So, it’s one of the most respected figures on the football global stage.

By the way, Liverpool already boasts the Paisley and Shankly Gates to commemorate their most prominent managers, and also a statue of Bill Shankly ,the architect of the club’s leap to global status.
