Gianni Infantino draws attention as fresh ethics crisis hits IOC and Fifa

Gianni Infantino, Fifa president has appeared to be the subject of an unexpected preliminary investigation carried out by the ethics committee.

On Friday, the International Olympic Committee along with Fifa were involved into a series of ethics and corruption crises, following a thrilling day on both sides of the Atlantic.

Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who’s one of the most powerful males in the sports world, was evidently labeled by the US Department of Justice as a co-conspirator in an $1.3 million bribery scam. Obviously, the DOJ ruled the 2015 dawn raids as well as indictments, directly threatening Fifa’s existence.

Then, a report in Der Spiegel, German newspaper arose that Fifa president Gianni Infantino happened to be the very subject of another investigation by the ethics committee. The subject of the investigation was whether he illegally influenced the previous month’s Confederation of African Football presidential election or not.
