Everton loses chance going fifth with draw at West Ham

Everton has just overlooked the chance to find themselves in the Premier League top five. It’s because the club drew against West Ham in a boring encounter.

West Ham’s Slaven Bilic is expected to be the happier of the two managers because the point brings his side closer to Premier League safety on up to 38 points, just seven clear of Swansea in 18th. In this particular case only four games are left.

It actually took Everton until the 70th minute after the first half from both sides to register their first shot. It feels like they did nothing to meet their objective in the game.

As for Premier League top scorer Romelu Lukaku, he was reduced to an ordinary passenger and he was kept quiet by the Hammers’ perfect three-man defence.

The sports event at the London Stadium had been unrolling for about half an hour before either side registered a shot.

Both sides had generated changes in goal for the play, with Adrian taking part in his first Premier League play since November 5 for the Hammers as well as Everton goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg debuting since 19 December.
