Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil has already disclosed that the previous summer he stumbled on a big-money offer from China.
Next year, the 28-year-old football player is on the verge of being out of contract with the Gunners, and negotiations over an extension are about to resume closer to the end of the season.
In his new book dubbed “Gunning for Greatness”, the player has disclosed how he could have exchanged north London for the riches of China.
The player told that he didn’t hesitate whether he should reject the offer or not. Besides this, when he received an offer from China the previous summer, he didn’t require Pires’ advice, as the offer turned to be extremely absurd.
He confessed that the Chinese were ready to shell out up to £100m net over for five years. For him it was a fantastic sum, going beyond the limits of his imagination.
Notwithstanding this, it took him less than three minutes to have the offer turned down. Mesut Ozil simply doesn’t want to play in this Asian country, no matter what the Chinese offer.
