Right after a mind-blowing Super Bowl victory, Devin McCourty and Chris Long, Patriots players, along with their teammates Alan Branch, Dont’a Hightower, Martellus Bennett as well as LeGarrette Blount told that they would ignore the old tradition of paying a visit to the White House. The actual cause was the recent election of President Donald Trump.
On Friday, Long and McCourty were noticed in a video under the title “StandingPats” in the company of New England fans. Via the video they explained their firm opposition to the newly-elected US President and also why they decided to neglect this tradition.
Chris Long told that when his son grows up he doesn’t want to explain him why he visited the White House, being aware of who had become the US President. The sportsman simply doesn’t want to be caught doing wrong in public and then blamed by his son.
In the footage, following a Patriots fan telling he was awfully tired of the team labeled “alt-right” McCourty emphasized he was eager to radically change the perception.
